I'm Mexican and in typical Mexican fashion, I celebrate La Dia De Los Muertos. We've been to
Olvera Street for the last 4 years in a row now and I love it. I am open to new places to celebrate but this is an amazing celebration. If you have no idea what La Dia De Los Muertos is...
go here. I'm too lazy to explain. The best thing ever about celebrating ANYTHING at Olvera Street is eating at my fave place ever:
Cielito Lindo!!! Best taquitos and guacamole sauce ever! Myself, I can eat 4 with beans easily. Just thinking of the amazing tasty goodness makes me get hungry.
Another part of the celebration that I just love is the beautiful alters. These alters are dedicated to loved ones that we hope will return and visit us on this night. I took a few pictures of some of them but they don't do them any justice.
Then we get to watch an Aztec Indian Dance for the celebration. Their costumes are BEAUTIFUL and their dance is mezmorizing. I stood and watched them for the hour that they performed. It makes me so proud of my heritage and who I am. I don't look Mexican but I'm a proud Mexican-American.
